Lately I've been wanting to learn of some calm, laid back music that is good for relaxing. Pretty much my entire music library consists of death metal, grind, or some form of metal. As much as I love that genre of music, I'm not really always in the mood to listen to it. Anyone have any suggestions?

Ps. No pop punk or R&B, please.

Edit: Oh, and no country. Absolutely no country.

I have no idea what the f- kind of calm music to suggest since you listen to metal.. so here's a few albums:

'Since I Left You' by The Avalanches
'Play' by Moby
'Private Press' by DJ Shadow
'Demon Days' by Gorillaz

first 3 are more electronic, and I'm sure you have heard of demon days, but yeah that's chill music and Feel Good Inc/Dare aren't the only good songs.

i always have liked chris cornell's solo album for more laid back work. he has an extremely powerful voice yet uses some basic yet complex arrangements to complement it.

lots of guitar virtosos also put out relaxed solo instrumental albums that are fantastic.

Last two or three albums by the Notwist
MuteMath have some chill songs
Radiohead
Pink Floyd
I dunno. Tons of bands that I have on my computer are chill but I'm drawing blanks for some reason.

A lot of Belle and Sebastian is pretty chill too.
