Program works just fine Karl.
As far as Shader 1.1 goes, I think its a perfectly good choice. New enough to make the Xen remake look much much better but old enough for people with older graphics cards to play.

Intel(r) 82915g/gv/910gl Express chipset Family

and im pretty sure all the drivers and shit are updated .

I highly doubt your chipset supports pixel shaders.
Buy a cheapass graphics card. You can get a x1300 for like 40 dollars.

It should work on any ATi Radeon 9000+ and nVidia FX5200+, those are the lowest cards I know off the top of my head that really support SM1.1.

Works fine for me, 8192.

Although the game will definitely require pixel/vertex shaders in the future, I've figured out a way to do the same thing without them for the time being.

Download Me! (click here)

After you run it, PLEASE TELL ME what happens and everything that is written in the output (you can ignore the first two lines)

For example,

"Max Vertex Shader Constants: 256
Max Indexed Matrix Index: 37

Creating the Direct3D device in HARDWARE mode..."

December 18 Progress Update
Hello again everyone! I've been pretty busy with exams and stuff recently, but I managed to get the mesh vertex shader up and running. With some help from Razillian (thank you for the Ex shield and silver mace!) I managed to texture almost everything.

If some of the screenshots look like someone dropped a bunch of plus-size items all over the screen...well that's what happened. For some reason all the usable items are HUGE, but the characters are the right size. Go figure.

Anyway, here's the gallery! It's hosted at the brand-spanking-new (okay it's not that new but nobody's used it yet) homepage.

Lookin great. Ej's models are huge, When I used a modified version of mapmaker for items screenshots i always had to scale them down in photoshop or whatever.

Sorry to those of you that tried to register, my anti-spam mod didn't correctly update the registration procedures.
